Summary:
The Project Manager I manages relationships with key stakeholders and ensures excellence in project delivery for our clients. The Project Manager takes ownership of the entire project performance, managing the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) project from start to finish, including safety, quality, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction, and is responsible for contract administration, project planning, and overall project execution. The Project Manager I is a site-based position that manages and drives utility-scale projects.
Requirements:
- Overall responsibility and accountability for project delivery according to the planned schedule and budget, while meeting HSE and Quality objectives as well as Client expectations and requirements.
- Depending on size, complexity, and project stage, the Project Manager I may manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Health and Safety:
- Pro-actively manages the HSE plan with the project team to ensure processes are consistent and implemented according to it.
- Client Relationship Management Accountabilities:
- Provides excellence in the management and delivery of the project, in-line with the client’s expectations.
- Manages the overall relation with Client site representatives and client Project Manager.
- Reports and presents project status, results, and forecast to internal and external stakeholders on a periodic basis.
- Ensures Client concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
- Planning:
- Leads the overall Project Execution Plan development to apply the best strategy for an assured project delivery.
- Manages the Project Execution Plan, hosts kick off, updates, and close-out meetings for the project.
- Manages project required construction permits as a prerequisite for project inception.
- Collaborates with all stakeholders including engineering, procurement, and operations, to develop a detailed Level 3 schedule.
- Understands the critical path and actively manages all critical path activities.
- Works alongside the Project Superintendent, who oversees construction execution and site management, to ensure seamless communication and coordination, while managing the overall EPC project delivery.
- Actively manages Client deliverables and its potential impact on the schedule.
- Works with the team to develop a recovery plan in case of any slippage in activities that can impact the critical path.
- Budget:
- Allocates budget, tracks costs to date, forecasts costs to completion, and manages procurement, subcontracts, and materials.
- Proactively manages cost and identifies potential opportunities for profit improvement.
- Contract:
- Maintains a full understanding of all contractual obligations for the project and documentation of changes and is able to demonstrate and explain to others project contract terms and conditions.
- Leads solution / risk mitigation and opportunity realization strategies for contract changes.
- Ensures that flowdown of key terms from the main contract are passed on to vendors and subcontractors.
- Ensures the project team and all associated subcontractors understand and adhere to the client specifications (including technical, quality and safety requirements), reporting requirements, acceptance criteria, and associated exhibits.
- Assesses impact on all levels before implementing approved changes and corrective actions by following the MOC processes to meet project requirements.
- Collaborates with Project Controls team to make sure that all change notifications are issued on a timely basis as per the Contract requirements and proactively manages the change orders to a successful resolution by making sure that all back-up documentation is available and signed off by client site representative on a timely basis.
- Risk:
- Drives the project’s risk management plan to implement preventive & corrective measures to manage risks and exploit opportunities and to ensure timely decision making.
- Quality:
- Reviews and approves the quality management plan and ITP developed by the Quality group to make sure it is in line with the Contract requirements. and ensures its implementation on site.
- Works closely with the quality group to track the non-conformances on the project, ensure that these are tracked in Procore, ensures proper closure of all NCRs with documented cost to track cost of poor quality.
- Can analyze and communicate to relevant stakeholders the final project report and summarize key learnings, project performance and findings upon Project Completion.
- Environment:
- Provides the required documents, drawings and other forms to active projects for monitoring and maintaining the EMS.
- Supports developing projects to complete all required permitting activities before commencement.
- Ensures training is provided and certifications are maintained on field staff to comply with EMS requirements.
- Leadership:
- Supports recruiting and hiring of outstanding talent.
- Manages, guides, and coaches the project team to ensure project activities are understood and follow established processes.
- Creates a culture of continuous improvement.
- Manages the project team rotation schedule to ensure proper coverage at all times during project execution.
- Utilizes Safety Management Systems (SMS), Quality Managements Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and technical procedures.
- Performs audit functions to ensure compliance.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, or construction management, or equivalent OR any combination of education and work experience (2 years’ work experience is equivalent to 1 year education), required.
- 4+ years EPC Project Management, required.
- 3+ years Solar or T&D EPC experience, preferred.
- Ability to travel 76%-100% of the time domestically, required.
- Valid Driver’s license required

Anticipated base salary range: $119,000 - $149,000
Premium Daily Per Diem paid for food, lodging, rotational travel
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
